Tomorrow I have a Civil Procedure exam and Elijah will be in surgery. Once again, Elijah has helped me to have a little perspective on life. Elijah is a big part of the reason that I am in Columbia. Seeing everything Shane and Heather went through and all their family support helped me to realize that I wanted to be closer to my own family. If you have even a little extra money, please donate it to Elijah’s March of Dimes Walk America Team. They are only a little bit away from raising 2000 dollars. And whether you have any money or not, please take a moment to think positive thoughts for Elijah tomorrow. I know I will be thinking of him!

Anne--you are one of the most thoughtful and caring people that I've ever met. This week has been crazy! We got a phone call late Tuesday night saying that Elijah's surgery was canceled. They found out that he has a blood disease called Von Willebrand and it causes his blot to not clot like it should. Since that is a necessary part of being able to survive surgery, we had to postpone. We are waiting to see the hematologist...they said he is marked urgent, so we should hear right away. That was on Tuesday night. Hopefully today is the day. There is so much more to this story, as there always is with Riley Hospital, but I'll tell you later...I'm off to the NSRF Facilitator's Meeting in Indy.
Thanks again for your kind words...I'm sorry I didn't call to update you...It's been quite a week. Good luck on your exams.
Well we can all use a day when people think about us, even if we aren't having surgery, so I will send a few brain waves Elijah's way anyway. I'm sorry to hear about the surgery being postponed. I will check caringbridge for updates!
Also, I will be thinking (jealously:) of you at the NSRF facilitator's meeting. I miss being a part of a CFG so much! I wonder if they could be implemented somewhere in the law school process?? Professors or students? Wishful thinking, I know!
