To my friends and family in Bloomington:
Thank you for the soul nourishing spring break. You reminded me of all the reasons I wanted to come to law school and of all the reasons that I wanted to be in Columbia. You reminded me of all that I left behind, but also of all that I have to look forward to. You reminded me that grades and ranks do not define me. You reminded me of the importance of family and friends. You reminded me that we share common beliefs and values. You reminded me that I am not old. You reminded me that when we are all drowning it does not matter who is drowning more, and when we are swimming we should reach out to those who are not. You reminded me of relationships built on trust. You reminded me that shared histories can bridge into new relationships. You reminded me that you are the audience for this blog, and that even when you don’t comment, you are reading. You reminded me that if my car breaks down, people will be there with jumper cables. (Ok, that one is literal – thanks Kandi and Ron). This was truly the best vacation since starting law school (of course it didn’t end in a shocking break up either. . . so it might be like comparing apples and oranges). But honestly, it felt so good to spend time with all of you. It felt so good to be myself and not feel apologetic for that. Thank you. I miss you already.

You reminded me that Sundays at school are better when you spend half the time talking about things other than school. I am so glad you were able to visit. I had so much fun hanging out, and am here ANY day you want to talk. Lots of love, Kandi
You reminded me that there really are people out there who are working to change the structure that cause injustices for the little ones. Stay on track...you are doing great things. It was so nice to spend time with you. I always leave being with you are loving the conversations that we had. You are such a good friend and I thank you for that.
Elijah is having his adenoids removed, but not the tonsils. We can't imagine removing something that isn't causing problems "just in case" he needs them removed later. We don't know when the surgery is, but I will let you know.

It was wonderful to visit with you over Spring Break. Pamela and I look foward to your next visit. You are an incredible woman with UNLIMITED potential. KEEP PURSUING YOUR DREAMS!! We ALL love you.
Kandi - I wish we could still meet every Sunday. It was great to spend so much time with you and to see all your family.
Heather - Elijah is amazing. I loved the pictures of him one year a part. Please think about a space on blogspot so that old pictures will remain up! You could do it in addition to caringbridge. . .
Gene - I can't wait for FRD's "graduation" from elementary school in June!
